Oven Pot Roast

Pot Roast just screams “comfort food”. It’s not difficult to prepare and leaves delicious leftovers for a couple days. I personally prefer beer to red wine when I make it. Let’s get into the recipe!

What you need

tbsp bacon grease

clove garlic

tbsp tomato paste

tbsp flour
dark beer

cup beef broth

carrot

lb red potato

bay leaves

tsp onion powder

tsp black pepper

salt

tsp dried thyme

tsp dried rosemary
Instructions
0 Season chuck roast with salt. 1 Add bacon grease to Dutch oven on med-high and sear chuck roast on all sides then remove. 2 Lower heat to medium-low and add garlic. 3 Once fragrant add flour and seasonings, stirring to combine. 4 Then add tomato paste and stir well. 5 Pour in beer then beef broth, stirring well. 6 Add chuck roast and surround with carrots and potatoes. 7 Place in a preheated oven at 350° covered for around 3 hrs. 8 Remove chuck roast and veggies. 9 Shred Chuck roast. 10 Strain liquid into separate pan and add corn starch slurry to thicken. 11 Pour gravy over pot roast and veggies.
